I am a Biology major working towards a bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science. This Spring 17 semester is my first time participating in the S-Stem program and I am supremely happy to be part of it. As a kid Science, Biology and Math were always a big interest of mine and as an adult I feel it is my calling to pursue a degree in Biology. Being a seasoned student back at school is wonderful, I am really enjoying being back in an
academic setting. I am a full time student and blessed to be in a place where I can dedicate all my time and energy into school, a situation I had always hoped for.I am originally from Los Angeles, CA and came to Arizona for what I thought would be a short time. It seems things worked themselves out in a way where Arizona became my new home and I am now able to pursue my life-long goals of continuing my education.
My interests at the moment are conducting lab experiments! I cannot fully express how much I enjoy conducting experiments in the lab whether its dissecting cow eyes, sheep hearts or inoculating different medias to grow and identify microbes. It's honestly my newly found happiness. I'm looking forward to working with S-Stem staff and students this semester, the hands on learning and lab research.
